The Housing
Committee develops and disseminates information about the community’s
housing stock – where lead hazards are found, how lead is identified, best
practices in making housing lead safe, resources for housing owners and
residents. |
 |
The Health
Care Provider Outreach Committee works to inform physicians and parents
about lead and the appropriate testing of children at 12 and 24 months. Early
identification cannot reverse brain damage, but it can alert parents to the
need to find and eliminate the source of the lead so that the damage does not
escalate. |
 |
The Science
Committee monitors the latest research about lead poisoning and ensures
that all members of the Coalition have a sound scientific basis for the
conclusions that we reach and the actions that we advocate. |
 |
The Government
Relations Committee translates the work of the other committees into
actionable legislative and regulatory initiatives and provides legal and
legislative insight to Coalition discussions. This Committee generates
support for our cause among all levels of government. |
 |
The Community Outreach Committee
reaches out to civic, social, and professional organizations to raise
awareness of both the problem and the solution to childhood lead poisoning.
|
 |
The Membership Committee
recruits new members, maintains an accurate record of all Members and their
committee affiliations, tracks attendance at meetings. |
 |
The Finance Committee
manages the CPLP financial records and reports their status monthly.
