Volunteer Committees

The Coalition does its work through its Volunteer Committees. Please take a few minutes to learn more about the Coalition. Find a role that interests you and then join us.

The Screening and Professional Education Committee works to inform healthcare providers and parents about lead hazards and the appropriate testing of children at 12 and again at 24 months. This committee meets at the Monroe Co. Dept of Public Health.

The Government Relations Committee
translates the work of the other committees into actionable legislative and regulatory initiatives and provides legal and legislative insight to Coalition discussions. This Committee generates support for our cause among all levels of government.

The Finance Committee manages the Coalition’s financial records and makes monthly status reports to the Board of Directors.

The Education and Outreach Committee guides the outreach, educational, and media activities of the Coalition. It oversees the "Let's Make Lead History" campaign--an awareness and educational initiative that informs parents, healthcare providers, property owners, tenants, and contractors about the hazards of lead and the need to protect all children from exposure to lead poisoning.

The Science Committee monitors the latest research about lead poisoning and ensures that all members of the Coalition have a sound scientific basis for the conclusions we reach and the actions we advocate.

Unless otherwise noted, all committee meetings take place at the Finger Lakes Health Systems Agency located at 1150 University Ave. Please click here for directions.
